Sovereign Class Starship
|22 Years a Chapter of STARFLEET|
|A Message from the Commanding Officer...|
On behalf of the Officers and Crew of the U.S.S. Black Hawk,
NCC-75004-A, I want to welcome you aboard our web presence.
The USS Black Hawk has been a Starship-of-the-Line in STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc., for 21 years. Founded on February 28, 1995 as the USS Shiloh in Henderson, Tennessee, the Shiloh. commissioned on March 23, 1996, was transferred from the First Fleet to the Twelfth Fleet on August 15, 1997. In 1999 the Shiloh, reflecting the area we reside in, changed it's name to Black Hawk and in January 2001 we upgraded from an Intrepid (Voyager) Class Starship (Registry number NCC-74683) to a Sovereign (Enterprise-E) Class Starship with the registry of NCC-75004. In 2006, in celebration of our 20th Anniversary, an "A" was added to the Registry Number when the Black Hawk crew was transferred to a new Sovereign Class, referred to as the Black Hawk Variant or Sub-Class, with the Registry number NCC-75004-A. The two main differences with the standard Sovereign Class is the the Black Hawk Variant is 50% larger, built on a larger space frame, and thus has a larger complement size and has a modified 'Transwarp' Drive to take it through Transwarp corridors, making distances amazing shorter.
As part of the original comlpement of the Shiloh, a detachment of STARFLEET Marine Corps (SFMC), the 163rd Marine Strike Group. While the 163rd remained with the First Brigade, later assigned to Tesla Station, a new STARFLEET Marine Corps detachment, the 263rd MSG, also known as the "Hawk's Talons", was assigned to the Black Hawk in September 2001, as part of the Twelfth Brigade, also known as the "Dirty Dozen". This is an option that all Black Hawk members have to experience as either a Reservist or an Active Duty Marine. The current First Officer, General Larry French, serves as the Officer-in-Charge. Please contact hi, for more information.
From 2009-2015 the USS Black Hawk had the honor in serving as the Flagship of the Twelfth Fleet with the appointment (election) of it's Commanding Officer as the Twelfth Fleet Commander. For more on our illustrous History, please refer to the menu to the left.
